Giacomo Castellano was born in Florence on the 10th of April 1969. He began studying guitar when he was 14 years old, initially self taught, he subsequently began studying at local music schools were he learnt the basis of theory, arrangements and improvisation.
In 1988 Giacomo moved to Hollywood to study at Musicians Institute. Since then he went through a lot of musical (and life) experiences including teaching, writing music books (two best sellers in guitar book category, in Italy), studio sessions, touring, recording and tv promo with major italian and spanish artists such as Raf, Irene Grandi, Gianluca Grignani, Vasco Rossi, Paolo Vallesi, Marco Masini, Claudio Simonetti, Adriano Celentano, Gianna Nannini, Noemi, Alessandra Amoroso, Elisa Toffoli, Monica Naranjo, Rosana Arbelo, Thomas Lang, ROCK IN RIO MADRID, WE WILL ROCK YOU MADRID and many others.
His first solo album, called Cutting Bridges, was originally released on february 2004, The record is a self-produced musical experiment including music composed during these last 10 years. The music is guitar oriented but there are several musical styles involved, a new edition, remixed and remastered it’s now available! Check it out on ITunes.
Giacomo is actually working to different musical projects, including his new solo record.
